Our events

Celebrating the moments that bring our school together

At Morna, we organise a wide range of events alongside our educational curriculum. These experiences bring students, staff and families together, strengthening our sense of community while supporting causes that are meaningful to us.

Events take place across all year groups, with many led by the students themselves. From a young age, students are encouraged to take an active role in planning and organising activities, helping them develop important skills such as responsibility, teamwork and leadership.

Autumn Fair

Halloween Fun, Community Spirit & Giving Back

One of the most eagerly anticipated events on the Morna calendar, our annual Autumn Fair brings the entire school community together for a wonderfully spooky afternoon of fun, creativity and fundraising.

Held every year on the final day before the October half-term holiday, the school is transformed into a colourful Halloween celebration, with students and staff embracing the occasion in imaginative costumes and an incredible variety of activities taking place across the campus. Parents and families are warmly welcomed to join in the festivities.

A Whole School Celebration

From EYFS through to Sixth Form, everyone gets involved. Stalls and activities are organised across the school, with students taking an active role in planning, creating and running many of the attractions.

Visitors can enjoy everything from homemade cakes, games, raffles and creative challenges to Halloween parades, talent shows, haunted houses and escape rooms. The ever popular Sponge the Teacher is always a particular favourite!

Music, laughter and a wonderful sense of community fill the campus, making the Autumn Fair a truly special way to end the first half of the autumn term.

Making a Difference Together

Beyond the fun, the Autumn Fair has an important charitable purpose.

Our Student Council and House Captains help select the charities supported each year, giving students a meaningful voice in deciding where the funds raised will make a difference.

Over the years, the Morna community has supported a range of local, national and international charities, including APNEEF Ibiza, Cruz Roja Española, Make-A-Wish and the Llar Mare del Remei Children's Care Home.

The generosity of our families and the enthusiasm of our students have produced some remarkable fundraising achievements, including €5,577 in 2023 and an extraordinary €9,086 at a subsequent Autumn Fair.

A Morna Tradition

The Autumn Fair is much more than a Halloween celebration. It is an opportunity for students of all ages to demonstrate creativity, leadership, teamwork and generosity, while bringing together families, staff and students in support of causes that matter.

It is one of those special Morna traditions that perfectly captures the spirit of our school community, and a wonderful way to head into the half-term holiday!

Christmas Shows

Morna Christmas Shows

Morna's annual Christmas productions have become one of the highlights of the academic year, bringing together students, families and staff to celebrate the performing arts and the festive season.

From humble beginnings over twenty years ago, with a performance of Angel Squadron at a local restaurant, our productions have grown considerably in both size and ambition. Over the years, students have taken to the stage in productions including The Wizard of Oz, The Sound of Music, Oliver!, Here Comes the Sun, Grease, Beauty and the Beast and many more.

For more than a decade, we have had the privilege of performing at the Palacio de Congresos, and we are very grateful to the Ayuntamiento de Santa Eulalia for allowing us to use this wonderful venue for our productions.

For many years, our Primary students were very much part of these large scale productions. However, as Morna has grown, our Christmas celebrations have evolved too. In recent years, Primary has developed its own Christmas show, performed on the Morna site and giving our younger students the opportunity to take centre stage in a production of their own.

Our youngest students in EYFS also join in the festivities with their own Christmas celebration, sharing festive songs with their families and bringing plenty of Christmas cheer to the Morna site, with mince pies for parents to enjoy along the way!

Whether performing on the stage at the Palacio de Congresos or here at Morna, our Christmas shows offer students much more than the opportunity to develop their performance skills. Taking part encourages cooperation, empathy, literacy, perseverance and confidence, while giving students the chance to make new friends, work together across the School community and create unforgettable memories.

Graduation & Prizes

Graduation Day & Prize Giving Events

The end of the academic year is an important time for celebrating achievement and recognising the progress of students across Morna.

Our annual KS4 and KS5 Prize Giving and Graduation Ceremony is one of the highlights of the School calendar, celebrating the hard work, dedication and achievements of our senior students throughout the academic year. The occasion includes the presentation of awards, speeches from special guests and heartfelt reflections from our graduating Year 13 students as they look back on their journey at Morna and prepare to take their next steps beyond the School.

Celebration and recognition, however, begin with our youngest students. At the end of the year, EYFS families come together for their own special celebration and prize giving as children prepare to leave Reception and move into Year 1.

In Primary, the end of Year 6 marks another important milestone. Students celebrate completing their Primary education before quite literally crossing the playground to begin the next stage of their Morna journey in Secondary. Primary students are also recognised for their achievements at their end of year prize giving.

Our KS3 students have their own prize giving too, providing an opportunity to recognise their achievements, effort and progress during the year before they move towards the next stage of their Secondary education.

While each of these occasions is different in scale and character, together they reflect something that is important to Morna: recognising achievement at every stage of a student's journey and celebrating the milestones that mark their progression through the School.

Our senior Graduation and Prize Giving also provides an opportunity to support important causes within the wider community. At our most recent event, the annual art auction raised 2,150 € for the IFCC and the Lisa Kent Trust, reflecting the generosity and community spirit of Morna's students, families and staff.

Music Concerts

Morna Music Concerts

Our annual Secondary Music Concert gives students the opportunity to showcase their talents in a setting beyond the School and experience the excitement of performing in a real music venue in front of an audience of families, teachers and friends.

Led by our Head of Music, Xavi Gomis, who encourages and supports students throughout their preparation, the concert features a wide variety of musical styles, including classical, rock, funk and pop, reflecting the diversity, creativity and confidence of our young musicians.

Each year we aim to hold the concert at an off site venue, making the experience even more special for our performers. Last year, students performed at a jazz club in Ibiza Town, while our most recent concert was held at The Hub Ibiza, whose excellent facilities provided a fantastic setting for the evening.

The concert has become a much anticipated event in the Morna calendar, with parents coming to support the performers and many members of staff looking forward to attending each year. It is a wonderful celebration of our students' hard work, musical talent and enthusiasm, and a great opportunity for them to experience what it feels like to perform outside the familiar surroundings of School.

Prom Night

Prom Night for Year 13 Students

Prom Night is a very special occasion for our Year 13 students, giving the graduating class the opportunity to celebrate the friendships, memories and experiences they have shared throughout their time at Morna.

The evening is very much student led. Our Head Student and Deputy Head Students, together with a dedicated Prom Committee, take responsibility for much of the organisation, from researching venues and obtaining quotes to choosing the setting and planning the evening. They work closely with our Head of Sixth Form, who supports and guides them throughout the process, with the necessary approval from Senior Management. This gives students real ownership of one of the most memorable events of their final year.

On the evening, students are joined by teachers they have chosen to share the occasion with them. At our most recent Prom, parents were also invited for a welcome drink, giving families the opportunity to share this important milestone before the celebrations began. A professional photographer captures the occasion, alongside heartfelt messages, reflections and plenty of shared memories.

It is a wonderful celebration of friendship, achievement and their years at Morna, and a fitting farewell as our Year 13 students prepare to begin the next chapter of their lives.

Charity Football

Charity Football Events

Our charity football events have become one of the highlights of the Morna calendar, bringing together students, families, staff, alumni and the wider community for a fantastic day of football, entertainment and fundraising.

What makes these events particularly special is that they are student-led initiatives, organised by our Sixth Form student leaders and Duke of Edinburgh's Award participants. Supported by staff, parents, sponsors and local businesses, students take an active role in bringing these ambitious events to life, developing valuable leadership, teamwork and organisational skills along the way.

Over four editions, the events have grown into a much-loved tradition, featuring tournaments for students of all ages, exciting matches between students and teachers, and appearances from special guests, including Robert Pirès, former Arsenal player, French international and 1998 World Cup winner, and former professional Austrian goalkeeper Dominik Braunsteiner.

The fourth and most recent event, held in Santa Gertrudis, was perhaps our biggest and most ambitious yet, welcoming over 500 attendees and introducing a parents' tournament. Spanish freestyle football champion Joan Sitjar entertained spectators with an impressive skills performance, while the event raised an outstanding €10,020 for Ibiza y Formentera Contra el Cáncer (IFCC).

Beyond the football, barbecues, raffles, stalls and family activities create a wonderful community atmosphere. Over the years, funds raised have supported IFCC, helping people affected by cancer in Ibiza and Formentera, and the SAVE Foundation in South Africa.

The success of these events would not be possible without the generosity of our sponsors, local businesses, families, staff and volunteers, whose support we greatly appreciate.

Above all, our charity football events are a wonderful example of student leadership in action, bringing people together through sport while making a meaningful difference to others.

Race Against Hunger

Race Against Hunger

Our annual Race Against Hunger is a long standing Morna tradition that brings members of our school community together for an energetic and meaningful fundraising event. We have supported this important initiative for many years, giving students the opportunity to challenge themselves physically while raising money for a very worthwhile cause.

Led and organised by our PE Department, the event is designed to involve different parts of the School and, in some years, can become a whole school activity. The most recent Race Against Hunger focused on students from EYFS and Primary, who were challenged to run for a full hour.

A route is created around the School, with checkpoints along the way, and students complete as many laps as they can while being encouraged by teachers, staff and fellow students. The event creates a fantastic atmosphere across the School and gives students the chance to demonstrate determination, teamwork and commitment while supporting an important cause.

The most recent event raised an incredible 10,411.40 €. Its success reflects the commitment of our students, the generosity of our families and the hard work of our PE Department in bringing the whole event together.

Race Against Hunger has become an important part of school life at Morna and a wonderful example of our community coming together to support others.

Community Visits

Visits from Local Elderly Residents

For the past three years, Morna has had the pleasure of welcoming residents from Sa Residència Colisée for a special intergenerational visit that brings together two generations to share experiences, perspectives and companionship.

Organised by our student leaders and supported by the KS3 and KS5 Student Councils, these visits are centred on genuine conversation and mutual learning. Our students have the opportunity to hear residents' stories, benefit from their experiences and discover perspectives shaped by different times and circumstances. In turn, residents enjoy engaging with our young people, hearing about their lives, interests and aspirations, and sharing in the energy and outlook of a younger generation.

The value of these visits lies in the connections that develop through spending time together. They encourage curiosity, empathy and mutual respect, while reminding students and residents alike that meaningful relationships can flourish across generations.

Through initiatives such as this, Morna seeks to strengthen connections with our wider community and create experiences that enrich everyone involved.

Balearic Day

Primary Balearic Day

Our annual Balearic Islands Day brings students, staff and families together to celebrate the culture, history and traditions of Ibiza and the wider Balearic Islands.

The day is organised by our Primary Spanish and Catalan team, who work closely with local businesses, artisans, artists and members of the community to bring a wonderful range of experiences into the School. Through projects, workshops and practical activities, students learn about the islands' heritage, traditional crafts, local geography and customs directly from people who live and work within the local community.

The celebration also features traditional food, music and Ibicenco dancing, including ball pagès. Previous events have included theatre performances inspired by Ibizan legends, artisan markets and an introduction to the Ibizan Hound (Podenco Ibicenco), the island's distinctive native dog breed.

As an international school, we believe it is particularly important that our students understand and appreciate the culture, traditions and community of the island they call home. Balearic Islands Day is a wonderful opportunity to strengthen that connection and to bring our international and local communities together.

House Captains

Primary elections for House Captains

Our three school Houses — Tagomago, Conejera and Es Palmador — are named after islands surrounding Ibiza and form an important part of our whole-school community.

Being a member of a House gives children a strong sense of belonging and helps build connections across different year groups. Throughout the year, pupils work together to earn House points through sporting events, teamwork, positive behaviour, progress and individual achievements. These points contribute to friendly competition between the Houses while encouraging children to support and celebrate one another.

Each year, Year 6 pupils have the opportunity to stand for election to become House Captains. Candidates prepare and deliver campaign speeches before pupils vote for the person they feel will best represent their House. House Captains take on an important leadership role, helping to motivate and inspire others, promote team spirit and act as positive ambassadors for both their House and the wider school community.
