Our programme

Learning that extends beyond the classroom.

At Morna International College, learning and personal development extend well beyond the classroom. Our extracurricular programme gives students the opportunity to discover new interests, develop their talents, build confidence and enjoy spending time with friends in a different setting.

Our programme begins in Reception and continues throughout Primary and Secondary, with activities designed for different ages, interests and abilities. We aim to provide a broad and varied selection across sport, creativity, languages, music, wellbeing, academic support and enrichment.

Recent examples have included football, basketball, volleyball, boxing, taekwondo, roller skating, art and craft clubs, photography, science, natural farming, dance, singing and acting, Spanish clubs, emotional intelligence, self-defence, Warhammer and D&D, table tennis and homework clubs.

For older students, the programme also includes opportunities for academic catch-up and curriculum support, EAL and examination preparation, as well as enrichment programmes such as the Duke of Edinburgh's Award.

Music and academic support

Music, languages and academic support.

Our extracurricular provision is not limited to sport and creative activities. Instrumental tuition is also available, with recent programmes offering guitar, piano, ukulele, drums, voice training, bass and cello, either individually or in small groups.

We also offer a range of homework clubs and curriculum support sessions, providing students with opportunities to consolidate their learning and receive additional academic support outside the normal school day.

Timings

When do activities take place?

Our extracurricular programme runs each academic year from October through to June.

During the latter part of September, parents are sent the full extracurricular programme by email, together with a sign-up link where they can select and register for the activities they would like their child to attend.

Activities take place after the normal school day. EYFS activities begin at 15:45, while activities for Primary and Secondary students begin at 16:15. Activities generally finish at 17:00 or 17:15, depending on the activity.

Costs

Are there additional costs?

Most of our extracurricular activities are free of charge, as they are run by Morna staff as part of our wider school programme. Some creative activities may have a small charge to cover materials or resources.

Activities delivered by external specialist providers, such as Elevate Football Club, carry an additional fee. Any applicable charges are clearly communicated to families and are normally added to the school invoice. The programme distinguishes between externally delivered activities, free activities and those with a small materials charge.

Specialist individual or small-group tuition, such as instrumental lessons, may also carry an additional charge.

Activities are subject to availability and sufficient student numbers, and places may be limited.

The activities described above are examples of the opportunities offered at Morna. Our programme is reviewed and updated each year, so the activities offered, age groups, days and availability may change.
