For many years, our parent association was known as AMPAMIC. From the 2026/27 school year, the association adopted a new name - The Morna PTA (Parent Teacher Association) - reflecting its evolving role and the international community it represents.
While the name has changed, its purpose remains the same: to bring parents, carers, staff and the wider Morna community together, strengthen the relationship between families and the school, and contribute to school and community life.
A strong partnership with parents
Over the years, the school has enjoyed a close and constructive relationship with the parent association and its representatives.
Claudia Chavez Davila became President of the Morna PTA in September 2026, continuing the work of the many parents who have led and supported the association over the years. Recent former Presidents include Ashlee Hensen, Silke Münninghoff and Annette Vaccaro, to name just a few of the parents who have given their time and energy to the PTA.
Morna would like to publicly thank them, and all past and present PTA members and volunteers, for their dedication, support and continued contribution to the school community.
The Morna PTA provides an open and constructive forum through which parents can become involved in the wider life of the school, share ideas and work collaboratively with us.
Class representatives are established across forms and year groups wherever possible, creating an important network within our parent community and helping families to connect, communicate and participate.
The PTA holds regular meetings and welcomes different levels of involvement. Some parents take an active ongoing role, while others contribute to particular events, projects or initiatives during the year.
Working together
At the heart of the Morna PTA is a commitment to positive and active involvement in our school community.
The PTA works alongside the school on activities and initiatives that bring families together and enrich school life. These include community events, family activities, fundraising, cultural initiatives and projects where parents can contribute their own experience, expertise and ideas.
The PTA also creates opportunities for parents, staff and students to contribute to conversations about the values and community culture we want to foster at Morna.
Supporting our wider Ibiza community
The PTA's work extends beyond the school. We want our students and families to feel connected to Ibiza and to understand the importance of contributing to the community in which we live.
A particularly important example is our ongoing support for Llar Mare del Remei, Ibiza's children's home. This relationship and the activities surrounding it have been coordinated with great commitment by Annika Hölting, who works closely with the home to understand its current needs and identify practical ways in which the Morna community can help.

One particularly special part of the project gives Morna families the opportunity to sponsor a child's birthday. Parents can sign up through the school Main Office and are given the child's first name and age so that they can choose and prepare an appropriate birthday gift. The gift is delivered to the home for the child to enjoy on their birthday, helping to make their day that little bit more special. Families do not meet or have direct contact with the children, ensuring that their privacy and safeguarding are fully respected.
Families can also choose to sponsor an activity or day out for the children, helping to provide enjoyable experiences and opportunities outside the home.
Alongside these individual initiatives, the Morna community raises funds and responds to specific requests from the home. Support has included furniture and improvements to children's living spaces, clothing, toys and other essential items, as well as activities and excursions.
Through Annika's coordination and the generosity of Morna families, this has developed into an important and ongoing community partnership. It gives our students a practical example of what it means to be part of a community and to find meaningful ways to support others.
The Morna PTA Fund
The Morna PTA Fund provides a transparent and accountable framework for supporting initiatives agreed by the PTA. These may include projects benefiting our school community, local charitable causes and other initiatives developed in collaboration with the school.
Getting involved
Every Morna parent and carer is part of our wider community, and there are many ways to become involved with the PTA. Whether attending meetings, becoming a class representative, helping at an event, contributing professional expertise, supporting a fundraising activity or taking part in an individual initiative, participation is always welcome.
Parents who would like to become more involved are encouraged to look out for PTA communications shared through Classlist, by email from the school and through their Class Representatives. These will include information about upcoming meetings, events, volunteering opportunities and other ways to support PTA initiatives throughout the year.
The Morna PTA is ultimately about parents, staff and students working together to strengthen our school community and our connection with the wider community of Ibiza.
A few words from Claudia
Dear parents and carers,
Whether you're already part of the Morna PTA, have heard about us but haven't joined yet, or are discovering us for the first time, I'm so glad you're here.
To our current members, thank you. Your time, ideas and support make everything we do possible, and I look forward to working with you this year.
If you haven't joined yet, I'd love to welcome you. As an independent body, PTA membership is voluntary rather than automatic, so you need to actively choose to join.
As a general member, you have access to the same information as active PTA members, keeping you up to date with policy discussions, initiatives and matters affecting your children’s learning and school experience. You also have a channel to share your views and, where appropriate, vote on matters concerning the PTA and its priorities, if that’s something you choose to do.
If you would like to become more involved, active membership offers opportunities to join initiatives and committees, volunteer and attend meetings. You are free to contribute in whatever way suits you.
I hope as many of you as possible will join. The broader the range of voices we hear, the more confidently and accurately we can represent our parent community in supporting the school.
You are all welcome to contact me, whether you’re a PTA member or not, whether you have something specific to discuss in confidence or you’re just curious about what we do. And of course, ideas, offers of help and support for our charitable causes are always welcome. You can find me on Classlist, or wandering around the playground at pick up. Feel free to say hi!
Warm wishes,
Claudia
PTA President
