La creatividad es una parte importante de la vida en Morna y se desarrolla desde las primeras experiencias de los niños en EYFS, pasando por Primaria y Secundaria, hasta nuestros cursos de GCSE y A Level.

En todo el colegio animamos a los alumnos a explorar ideas, experimentar con materiales y técnicas y desarrollar las habilidades y la confianza necesarias para expresarse de forma creativa. De la pintura, el dibujo y la escultura a la fotografía, los medios audiovisuales y Diseño y Tecnología, los alumnos tienen la oportunidad de trabajar en una amplia variedad de disciplinas creativas.

La creatividad en EYFS

En EYFS, la creatividad empieza por la exploración. Los niños experimentan con el color, la textura, la forma y distintos materiales, y utilizan el arte y la creación de objetos para expresar sus ideas, desarrollar su imaginación y ganar confianza.

Las actividades creativas dan a los niños libertad para investigar, tomar decisiones y disfrutar del proceso de crear, y sientan las bases de las habilidades que irán desarrollando a lo largo de su etapa en el colegio.

Arte y Diseño en Primaria

En Primaria, los alumnos adquieren una comprensión más amplia y estructurada del arte y el diseño. Desarrollan habilidades de dibujo, pintura, escultura y otras técnicas mientras conocen la obra de artistas, artesanos y diseñadores de distintas épocas y culturas.

A medida que avanzan, utilizan cuadernos de bocetos para registrar sus observaciones, experimentar con ideas y revisar y perfeccionar su trabajo. Ganan control y confianza en el uso de distintos materiales y se les anima a comentar y valorar tanto su propio trabajo como el de los demás.

Diseño y Tecnología en Primaria

Diseño y Tecnología ofrece a los alumnos de Primaria la oportunidad de combinar la creatividad con la resolución práctica de problemas.

Los alumnos aprenden a diseñar con un propósito, elegir los materiales y herramientas adecuados, fabricar y probar sus ideas y valorar cómo podrían mejorar sus productos. A lo largo de la Primaria, los proyectos introducen áreas como las estructuras, los mecanismos, los textiles, la alimentación y la nutrición, los sistemas eléctricos y las tecnologías digitales.

Arte y Diseño en Secundaria

Al pasar a Secundaria, el trabajo creativo de los alumnos se vuelve cada vez más ambicioso y personal. Desarrollan sus habilidades técnicas mientras exploran artistas, diseñadores, ideas, materiales y procesos.

Les animamos a investigar, experimentar y asumir riesgos creativos, y a convertir sus ideas iniciales, mediante la investigación y el perfeccionamiento, en obras finales cada vez más logradas.

El departamento está dirigido por Thomas Galli, Jefe de Arte y Diseño, con el apoyo de profesores especialistas en Arte, Fotografía, Media Studies y Diseño y Tecnología.

Fotografía

La fotografía ofrece a los alumnos otra forma de explorar e interpretar el mundo que les rodea, combinando el conocimiento técnico con la creatividad y la expresión personal.

Además de la fotografía digital y la creación de imágenes, los alumnos disponen de un cuarto oscuro propio, lo que les permite conocer los procesos fotográficos tradicionales junto a las técnicas digitales actuales.

Media Studies

Media Studies combina la creatividad con el pensamiento crítico. Los alumnos estudian cómo se crean, construyen y comunican los medios, a la vez que profundizan en los medios actuales y producen sus propios trabajos creativos.

Los alumnos tienen la oportunidad de desarrollar habilidades prácticas de producción y crear sus propios productos audiovisuales, poniendo en práctica en distintos formatos los conceptos y técnicas que estudian.

Diseño y Tecnología en Secundaria

Diseño y Tecnología da a los alumnos la oportunidad de convertir sus ideas en resultados prácticos. Diseñando, fabricando, probando y perfeccionando, combinan la creatividad con el conocimiento técnico, la resolución de problemas y las habilidades prácticas.

La asignatura es la continuación natural del diseño y la fabricación que los alumnos han conocido en Primaria, hacia un trabajo cada vez más elaborado e independiente en Secundaria.

Un camino creativo

Desde los primeros experimentos de un niño con el color y los materiales en EYFS hasta el trabajo cada vez más elaborado y personal de nuestros alumnos de GCSE y A Level, la creatividad se desarrolla a lo largo de toda la trayectoria de un alumno en Morna.

Los alumnos tienen la oportunidad de explorar, experimentar y desarrollar sus ideas; las habilidades y las instalaciones especializadas para llevarlas más lejos y, sobre todo, la oportunidad de mostrar y celebrar lo que crean.
