Many students whose mother tongue is not English study at Morna. Some of these have had sufficient exposure to English through school, community or family, that they are well equipped to follow the curriculum in English. Some students have the English skills necessary to operate effectively in spoken English, but may not be proficient in using academic language. Others may have little or no understanding of English. These students are assessed and are then offered English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) support. The amount of support varies and as soon as fluency improves, TEFL support with our trained TEFL teachers can be decreased.
The cost of extra TEFL provision is the responsibility of the parents and will be charged as a separate item on the fee invoice. Please see the finance policy for more details.
