The children in Reception have been reading stories about woodland creatures and were lucky enough to enjoy a visit from some prickly friends. The hedgehog rescue centre Can Hog brought a basket of four orphaned hoglets for the children to observe. The youngest at just three weeks old fit snuggly onto the palm of a hand. The children asked many questions and were given lots of information about the care given to the creatures before they are released back into their natural habitat. They learned interesting facts about diet, habitat and the threat to the hedgehog population in Ibiza. The parents in Reception made generous donations to the centre to help with the cost of medicine , food and their plans to build a hedgehog hospital.
